Advertiser Staff

Prosecutors today charged an 18-year-old man arrested yesterday in the driver's seat of a stolen auto.

David Marino, who listed no local address at booking, was charged with unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle. His bail is $11,000 pending an appearance tomorrow at District Court.

Marino was arrested at a Waipahu gas station at 94-120 Farrington Hwy. with Daniel Kepanu Mano-Kila, 19, and Tyron Antonio, 18.

Mano-Kila and Antonio appeared at District Court today on misdemeanor charges of unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle. Mano-Kila is also being held on a $20,000 bail-revocation warrant for an unrelated offense while Antonio is also charged with possession of an electric gun, a misdemeanor.

The trio attracted the attention of a police officer because two of them had hoods on their heads while parked at the gas pump. The officer suspecting a robbery, called in the auto's license plate and learned it was stolen.
