Parents can get advice on kids' education today

Various government and other agencies will be on hand at Pearlridge Center today to provide parents with early childhood education information.

The event, from 10 a.m. to noon at Pearlridge's Uptown Center Court, will include representatives from the state Department of Education, the state Department of Health's Early Intervention Section, and agencies like O'ahu Head Start and Healthy Start.

The agencies will provide parents information about transitioning children to preschool and kindergarten, including typical skills development and required documentation.
