'Flower Drum Song' to be presented in Kapolei

The Performing Arts Center of Kapolei's version of the 2001 Broadway revival of "Flower Drum Song" debuts at 7 p.m. Friday at the Kapolei High School cafeteria.

The musical is about a young girl from mainland China finding her way in the 1950s world of San Francisco's Chinatown.

The show will play at 7 p.m. every Friday and Saturday through April 19. There will also be 1 p.m. matinee shows April 12 and 19.

Admission is $8.

A special scholarship dinner show will be held at 6 p.m. April 17.

The Performing Arts Center of Kapolei consists primarily of Kapolei High students, but also includes young people from elsewhere.
