Preps: OIA West Championship track trials

MILILANI — The O'ahu Interscholastic Association Western Division track and field championship trials were held yesterday at Mililani High School.

The top eight finishers in each event advanced to tomorrow's finals. Some events such as the 3,000-meter run and 4x400 relay, didn't have trials. Those qualifiers automatically advanced to the finals, which start at 3 p.m. with field events.

Mililani junior Courtney Senas finished first in the varsity girls triple jump and long jump. Prior to the meet, she played for the top-ranked Mililani softball team in its win over Pearl City.

Defending division champions are Mililani (varsity girls and varsity boys), Wai'anae (junior varsity girls) and Radford (junior varsity boys).

The OIA East finals will also be held tomorrow at Kaiser at 3 p.m.
