Long Beach State rallies past UH in water polo, 10-9

No. 13 Long Beach State scored four goals in the fourth period to upset No. 4 Hawai'i, 10-9, in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation women's water polo match today at Long Beach, Calif.

Long Beach State is 12-13 overall and 4-6 in the MPSF. The Rainbow Wahine are 15-7 and 7-4.

The Rainbow Wahine took a 7-6 lead after three periods. The 49ers scored three consecutive goals to take control in the fourth, 9-7. After a goal by UH's Kelly Mason, the 49ers sealed it with a goal by Dayna Wawrynski. UH's Lisa van Raalte scored the game's final goal.

Wawrzynski lead Long Beach State with four goals.

Angela Turnbull led UH with four goals.
