Pick up recyclables, win tickets to Kokua Festival

Advertiser Staff

Star 101.9 radio station has teamed up with Jack Johnson and The Kokua Foundation to do something good for the 'aina.

With tickets for the sold-out Kokua Festival in high demand, Star 101.9 listeners have taken action to recycle, according to a news release from the station.

"The Great Kokua Clean-up" will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. this Sunday, April 13 at the William S. Richardson School of Law parking lot, 2515 Dole St., at the UH Manoa campus.

Star deejays will be on hand to host the event and give away the remaining Kokua tickets. The 10 people that have collected the greatest amount of HI-5 recyclables (by worth, not weight) will score tickets to the sold-out show.

Listeners can win more than just Kokua Festival tickets. Jack Johnson wants to treat the 10 winners and their guest to a private performance in the Roadrunner Music Hall. For more details, call Star 101.9 at 296-1019 or visit www.star1019.com.
