Rainbow Wahine stop San Jose State in softball, 3-1

Tanisha Milca went 2 for 3, including a solo home run, to help No. 21 Hawai'i to a 3-1 victory over San Jose State today in the first game of a Western Athletic Conference softball doubleheader at Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium today.

Hawai'i improved to 30-11 overall and 6-1 in the WAC. San Jose State is 21-24 and 3-5.

Milca hit a home run to left field to start the bottom of the first inning.

The Spartans tied in the top of the fourth on an RBI single by Kayla Hayes.

Clare Warwick drove in Kanani Warren with a single to left field to give UH a 2-1 in the bottom of the fourth.

In the fifth inning, Milca singled, went to second on a double by Kaulana Gould and scored on a single by Brandi Peiler.

Courtney Baughman pitched a complete game to earn the victory, allowing five hits, striking out four and walking two.
