Hawaii Youth Symphony ushers in sounds of spring

The first concert in the Hawaii Youth Symphony's Spring Series is set for 4 p.m. tomorrow at the Blaisdell Concert Hall. It will feature the 88-member Youth Symphony I and the 91-member Youth Symphony II. The program includes a piece written by Michael-Thomas Foumai, a local 20-year-old composer and HYS alumnus. More than 400 students representing more than 100 schools statewide will take part in the overall series. Tickets for the concert are $18, with discounts available. Information: 877-750-4400.
