Girls varsity basketball head coach Glenn Takara was one of three 'Iolani School coaches who have submitted their resignations, the school announced yesterday.

Paddling coach Brian Yee and wrestling coach Yoshi Honda also resigned.

Takara was 'Iolani's girls varsity basketball coach for eight years. The Raiders won the Interscholastic League of Honolulu championship in 2007, and was state runner-up to Punahou this year. He will continue to be on the school's football coaching staff.

Yee spent 28 years coaching at 'Iolani. The Raiders won ILH and state boys championships in 2003 and 2004.

Honda became wrestling head coach in 2002 and led 'Iolani to four ILH titles (two boys and two girls) and a state boys and state girls title.

The school is accepting applications for all three positions. Call 943-2208 or e-mail: maruyama@iolani.org (paddling and basketball) or schroers@iolani.org (wrestling).
