Advertiser Staff

Police arrested a Halawa prison inmate Friday for investigation of six criminal offenses, including 24 counts of unauthorized possession of confidential personal information.

The suspect, 36, was arrested last Aug. 8 on a warrant for parole violation and has been at the Halawa Correctional Facility since September. He was booked Friday at 9:30 a.m. for third-degree promotion of a dangerous drug and possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a firearm on a highway, four counts of second-degree forgery and possession of deceptive identification.

Police said the arrest Friday stems from an on-going identity theft investigation.

The suspect has 16 prior convictions, including one for felony auto theft.
