UH coed sailing team in national semifinals

The University of Hawai'i coed sailing team qualified for the national semifinals today by finishing third at the Pacific Coast Sailing Coed Dinghy Championship in Long Beach, Calif.

Host USC won the 11-school regatta with a low-best 75 points. Stanford (83) was second, followed by Hawai'i (95) and UC San Diego (114). All four teams advance to the Intercollegiate Sailing Association Western semifinals at Long Beach on April 26 and 27.

Mike Scott, Andrew Meade, Mark Spector, William Petersen, Becky Mabardy, Pam Magasinn and Jackie McCloughlin comprised the UH crew, which competed in A and B divisions in the two-day event.
