UH water polo teams wins three matches

The fourth-ranked University of Hawai'i women's water polo team won all three of its matches today at the Long Beach State-Mini Tournament in Long Beach, Calif.

The Rainbow Wahine (18-8) wound up a seven-match road trip by defeating Sonoma State, 14-6; Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, 23-4, and Pomona-Pitzer, 16-4.

Angela Turnbull and Leonie Van Der Molen each scored three goals in the victory over Sonoma State. Carmen Eggens and Emily Cox added two goals apiece.

Van Der Molen scored a match-high four goals in the win over Claremont-Mudd-Scripps. Turnbull, Lisa van Raalte, and Maxie Groh added two goals apiece.

In the final match of the day, Cox, Van Der Molen and Kristin Swanson each scored three goals and Sarah Gralitzer held Pomona scoreless at the half and finished with 11 saves. Turnbull and Eggens added two goals apiece.
