A 28-year-old man was arrested today in Kalihi on suspicion he stole a purse from a woman at Kamehameha Shopping Center.

The suspect, who resides on Ula Street in Kalihi, was arrested fronting 1221 Gulick Ave. at 3:32 p.m., about an hour after the purse-snatching was reported. The suspect was booked for second-degree theft.

The woman victim, 34, was not injured.

The suspect's criminal record includes eight convictions.
