An autopsy tomorrow will try to determine cause and manner in the death today of a Honolulu man involved in a two-car motor vehicle collision near Liliha.

Police vehicular homicide investigators have tentatively listed the death as O'ahu's 12th traffic fatality of 2008, pending the autopsy findings.

The Honolulu medical examiner's office identified the victim as Kevin Neeson, 37. Neeson died at The Queen's Medical Center at 8:51 a.m., 54 minutes after the accident on 'A'ala Street, south of North School Street, was reported to police.

"It appears he maybe had medical problems before the crash," Honolulu Emergency Services spokesman Bryan Cheplic said.

According to vehicular homicide investigator Sgt. Danny Kaholokula, Neeson was headed south of 'A'ala Street in a 2003 Chevrolet sedan when he rear-ended a 2002 Hyundai sedan driven by a woman, 36.

The impact forced the Hyundai to collide with the west-side curb while the Chevrolet crossed over to the north lane of 'A'ala Street and collided into a parking meter and tree, said Kaholokula.

Neeson was found unconscious in his car. He and the woman driver were taken to Queen's in critical and fair conditions, respectively, said Kaholokula.
