Police seek help in finding man who punched store clerk

Advertiser Staff

After canvassing the area and exhausting all leads, police are seeking the public's help in locating a man who allegedly tried to take two bento lunches from a 7-Eleven store on California Avenue in Wahiawa.

The man walked into the store at 2:30 p.m. Feb. 17 and walked to the hot food area, picked up two Bento boxes and then went to the soda area, said police Sgt. Kim Buffet. When the man came to the counter to pay for the soda, the clerk asked about the Bento lunches and the man denied having them.

The man punched the clerk on the shoulder, threw a soda at another clerk and ran out of the store without the food, Buffet said.
