CERT training starts on Kauai today

Advertiser Staff

Community Emergency Response Team training is set to begin today and Wednesday in Kilauea and Kekaha, respectively.

Space is available at both locations for the free training.

The sessions are part of the county's efforts to establish a CERT in every community

on the island. In Kilauea, the CERT training will be held Tuesday nights, 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Lighthouse Christian Church.

On the westside, the training is slated to begin tomorrow from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m., at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Kekaha.

Nearly 240 people have completed the training to date, with the oldest active CERTs in Kilauea and Princeville.
