Police are seeking the public's help in finding the would-be bank robber who ran off without getting any money from an American Savings Bank branch at 1600 Kapi'olani Blvd. last week.

Police said the man handed a teller a note demanding money. When the teller didn't immediately comply, the man handed the teller a withdrawal slip.

The teller asked to see his ID.

The man left the bank, police said, apparently having lost his nerve.

Police described the man as in his 20s, 5-feet-8 to 5-feet-10 and 160 to 180 pounds. He has brown hair, and was wearing a black jacket and shorts.
