The grand opening of The Makaha Resort and Golf Club's new Nalu Grill and Makaha Sports Court is set for 5-8 p.m. on Saturday. The event is open to the public.

The restaurant is being dedicated to noted Makaha surfer and lifeguard Richard "Buffalo" Keaulana, said Danny Kelly, community relations director for the resort.

Keaulana, John DeSoto and other area surfers will be attending the opening.

The restaurant which specializes in prime rib and seafood, seats 100, with additional seating around the pool and overlooking the golf course, Kelly said.

The sports court includes tennis and basketball courts, as well as a batting cage.
