5 arrested in two Kahaluu raids

Police today arrested two fugitives and three other people in two separate search- warrant raids in Kahalu'u.

Jamie Valerie Ann Kalani, 30, and Darrell John Teixeira, 49, were arrested on probation-revocation warrants of $30,000 and $22,000, respectively, at 6:30 a.m. at a residence on the 47-300 block of Iuiu Street. Both will be taken to District Court tomorrow for initial appearances.

Kalani, who has no local address, and Teixeira of Waimanalo were also booked for third-degree promotion of a dangerous drug and possession of drug paraphernalia. A man, 54, an Iuiu Street resident, was arrested for similar drug offenses and later released pending further investigation.

Police arrested a man, 54, and woman, 53, at 6:50 a.m. at their home on the 47-300 block of Mawaena Street for investigation of first-degree promotion of marijuana, possession of an unregistered firearm, third-degree promotion of a detrimental drug, and drug paraphernalia.

The couple were being held at the main police station cellblock tonight pending charges.
