Isaac Kneubuhl, Kawika Shoji named to All-MPSF second team

Kamehameha alum Isaac Kneubuhl of Cal State Northridge and 'Iolani alum Kawika Shoji of Stanford were named to the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation men's volleyball second team today.

Hawai'i libero Ric Cervantes was named to the third team.

Kneubuhl is a senior outside hitter from Pukalani, Maui. Shoji is a sophomore from Honolulu. 'Iolani alum Brent Asuka, a junior libero for UC Irvine, was named honorable mention.

Cervantes, a junior from Santa Barbara, Calif., ranked first nationally with a 3.32 dig per game average. He also set the school single-season record in digs with 342. The previous record was 306 set in 2006 by former Warrior Alfred Reft.

Paul Lotman, a senior outside hitter from Long Beach State was named MPSF Player of the Year. Long Beach State's Mike Klipsch, a setter, was Freshman of the Year. Alan Knipe of Long Beach State was Coach of the Year.

Hawai'i finished 11-16 this season and missed the conference playoffs.
