EARTH WIND & FIRE MAY 27

Tickets go on sale tomorrow for a concert by the legendary Earth Wind & Fire, which returns for a concert May 27 at the Blaisdell Arena.

Among the group's many hit tunes are "Shining Star," "September," "That's the Way of the World," "Got to Get You Into My Life" and "Serpentine Fire." The trio — Philip Bailey, Verdine White and Ralph Johnson — was last here in January 2002.

HALL OF FAMERS HONORED

Bill Kaiwa, Jesse Kalima, Eddie Kamae, Don McDiarmid Sr., Peter Moon, Marlene Sai, and John Pi'ilani Watkins will be honored as 2007 inductees into the Hawaiian Music Hall of Fame in a concert, "Lei of Stars 2008," 7 p.m. April 26 at the Hawai'i Theatre.

Among the performers: the Jesse Kalima Ohana, Na Palapalai, Cyril Pahinui and the Hawaiian Music Hall of Fame Serenaders. Karen Keawehawai'i and Harry B. Soria Jr. are emcees.
