Tadd Fujikawa opens 7-shot lead at Mid-Pacific Open

17-year-old professional Tadd Fujikawa shot a 68 today to take a seven-stroke lead in the Mid-Pacific Open.

Tadd Fujikawa shot a 4-under-par 68 today to take a seven-stroke lead fellow professional David Ishii in the third round of the Mid-Pacific Open at Mid-Pacific Country Club.

Fujikawa, who at 17 is trying to become the youngest Mid-Pacific champion, is at 14-under 202. Ishii, who has won three Mid-Pac titles, shot a 73 today and is at 209.

Professional John Lynch is third at 211 after a 71. Pro Darren Summers shot a 74 and was alone in fourth at 213.

Travis Toyama and Bradley Shigezawa shot 75s today and are the top amateurs in the field at 221.

The leaders — Fujikawa, Ishii and Lynch — will tee off at 9:06 a.m. in tomorrow's final round.
