Developer's daughter hurt in crash

Advertiser Staff

The daughter of Hawai'i developer Jeff Stone was injured last night in Dallas when a sport utility vehicle crashed into her apartment and pinned her to a wall, a Dallas television station reported.

Police said China Stone, a student at Southern Methodist University, was in a hospital in intensive care, according to a report by CBS 11 News.

Stone, 21, was lying on a couch at the time of the crash, the report said.

Police arrested the SUV's driver, Brian Adams, an SMU student who also lives in the apartment complex on McFarlin Boulevard in University Park. Police believe alcohol was a factor and arrested Adams, 24, on suspicion of intoxication assault, the station said.

Adams' white SUV smashed through the front entrance of the apartment, the station reported. CBS 11 said the building's manager, Tom Gilchrist, said it appeared the driver hit the accelerator instead of the brake.

About a year ago, another car crashed into the same apartment unit, the station said. No one was inside in that incident.
