Nevada completes sweep of Rainbow Wahine in softball, 13-10

Nevada pounded No. 18 Hawai'i pitching for 15 hits today en route to a 13-10 victory and a Western Athletic Conference softball series sweep at Reno, Nev.

Nevada, which won the series 3-0, leads the WAC at 10-2 and is 32-14 overall. UH is 31-14 and 7-4.

Nevada took a 5-0 lead in the first inning, which included a grand slam by Sam Bias off Jessica Morton.

UH came back with three runs in the second inning, but Nevada came back with two more in the third for a 7-3 lead. The Rainbow Wahine scored two runs in the fourth and three runs in the fifth to go ahead, 8-7, but the Wolf Pack came back with five runs in the bottom of the fifth inning for a 12-8 lead.

UH scored two runs in the top of the sixth to close to 12-10, but the Wolf Pack added another run in the bottom of the inning for a 13-10 lead.

Kate Robinson hit a two-run homer for the Rainbow Wahine in the sixth inning and became UH's career home run leader with 39. It was her 16th homer this season.

Richie-Anne Titcomb also had a two-run homer for the Rainbows.
