Author Rich Budnick speaks on history of Isles

Author Rich Budnick will give a free public presentation about modern Hawaiian history on 11 a.m. May 3 at the Hawai'i Kai Public Library meeting room.

Budnick's 2005 book "Hawaii's Forgotten History: The good ... the bad ... the embarrassing" chronicles 2,001 little-known events in the Islands' history in the realms of politics, military affairs, education, transportation, business, crime and entertainment.

Contact the library two weeks in advance if a sign language interpreter or other special accommodation is needed.
