Forecast: Hazy weather likely to last the week

A low pressure area far to the north of the state will shift the surface ridge over the islands tonight, the National Weather Service said.

Local sea and land breezes will bring afternoon clouds and showers with clear nights and mornings.

Light winds will carry haze to the smaller islands later today, forecasters said.

The trade winds are expected to reappear during the weekend.

Here's how the next few days look:

Today: Widespread haze after noon. Mostly sunny, with a high near 82. Calm wind becoming south around 6 mph.

Tonight: Widespread haze. Mostly clear, with a low around 68. Light and variable wind.

Thursday: Widespread haze. Sunny, with a high near 81. Calm wind becoming south around 6 mph.

Thursday Night: Widespread haze. Mostly clear, with a low around 67. Light and variable wind.

Friday: Widespread haze. Sunny, with a high near 82. Calm wind becoming south around 6 mph.

Friday Night: Widespread haze. Partly cloudy, with a low around 68. Light north wind.
