McLachlin's 68 one off leaders; Wilson has ace, shoots 71

Hawaii golfers Parker McLachlin shot a 2-under 68 and is a shot off the leaders and Dean Wilson had an ace and finished 1-over 71 today in the EDS Byron Nelson Championship at Irving, Texas.

McLachlin, a Punahou alum and former Honolulu resident, had three birdies and a bogey for nines of 34-34. After a bogey-5 on the third hole, McLachlin birdied holes Nos. 7 and 8. He also birdied the 10th.

Wilson, a Castle High alum and former Kaneohe resident, had his hole in one on the par-3 fifth hole, his 14th on the day as he started on the back nine.

He finished with two birdies, an ace, three bogeys and a double bogey.

Ryan Moore, Mathew Goggin and Eric Axley shot 67s, the highest-scoring first-round leaders at the Nelson since 1984.
