A propane leak today on Pohaku Loa Way near the "Jocko's" North Shore surf site in Kawailoa prompted the precautionary evacuation of seven people from three households for about 30 minutes.

The leak was coming from the pressure relief valve of a 150-pound propane cylinder which supplied a residence on Pohaku Loa Way, said Honolulu Fire Department spokesman Capt. Terry Seelig.

HFD responded at 12:19 p.m. and the incident was resolved at 1:10 p.m. as firefighters emptied the tank, said Seelig.
