Fundraiser lu'au May 2 features hula, capoeira

St. John Vianney School will host its second annual lu'au fundraiser from 5 to 10 p.m. May 2 on its campus.

The event includes entertainment by kumu hula Blaine Kamalani Kia and the martial arts of Capoeira Besouro.

Proceeds of the lu'au will go toward the school's capital improvement fund.

Kia has recorded two CDs and is a musician, songwriter, dancer and instructor with more than 1,200 students worldwide.

Mestre Kinha from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, heads Capoeira Besouro.

Lu'au tickets are $20. A $3 keiki menu is available for ages 9 and younger.

Tickets can be purchased through tomorrow at the school office, 940 Keolu Drive.
