Bank of Hawaii Corp. today named Peter Ho as its number 2 executive.

The 43-year-old Ho was named president of the bank, where he will oversee retail banking, commercial banking and investment services.

Ho, the son of local business leader Stuart Ho and grandson of legendary deal maker Chinn Ho, assumes the title previously held by Allan Landon, who remains the company's chairman and chief executive officer.

"Peter is an excellent leader with solid banking experience," Landon said.

Ho, who joined the bank in 1993, previously served as vice chairman. He retains his duties as the company's chief banking officer.

Bank of Hawaii also named board member Kent Lucien as its interim chief financial officer, replacing Dan Stevens who is returning to the Mainland.

Lucien previously served as chief executive officer of operations and chief financial officer for C. Brewer & Co.
