TONIGHT'S MUST-SEES

"Die Hard" (1988), 5 p.m., AMC. Bruce Willis plays the lone cop in a skyscraper where his wife and others are hostage. It's a crisp thriller, with a smart script, taut direction (from John McTiernan) and a canny villain (Alan Rickman).

"Doctor Who," 8 p.m., Sci Fi. A couple years ago, Donna Noble suddenly popped up in the Doctor's spaceship. She was wearing her wedding dress and had been walking down the aisle when she was teleported. She was not exactly happy about this. Her rage was modified when she learned that the groom was working for an evil empress. Now she's back, working with The Doctor (David Tennant). His previous colleague, Martha Jones (Freema Agyeman) will return. Tonight, however, the Doctor starts his adventures with Donna; she's played by Catherine Tate, a skilled actress who has her own British comedy series.

OF NOTE

"Father of the Bride" (1991), 6:30 p.m., and "Father of the Bride II" (1995), 8:30 p.m., ABC Family. Steve Martin has gone from wonderfully eccentric comedies to blandly pleasant ones like these. The likable cast includes Diane Keaton.

"Ghost Whisperer," 7 p.m., CBS. A horror film is linked to a student's death.

"13 Going on 30" (2004), 7 p.m., Fox. At 13, a girl wishes she could skip her teens. Then she does; she's 30 and looks adult (played by Jennifer Garner). Now she must figure out how to do her job and how to get back with her childhood friend (Mark Ruffalo).

"Moonlight," 8 p.m., CBS. Beth is kidnapped. To rescue her, Mick may have to risk his new mortality.

"Numb3rs," 9 p.m., CBS. Gang members have kidnapped the family of an ex-Marine accused of killing a serial killer.
