Surf of 8-12 feet expected long north-facing shores

Advertiser Staff

Surf is continuing to build along Oahu's north-facing shores and is expected to reach 8 to 12 feet today with locally higher sets.

Elsewhere, look for surf 1 to 3 feet along east- and south-facing shores and 2 to 4 feet along west-facing shores.

The current northwest swell will slowly decline Saturday night through the remainder of the weekend. A solid south southwest swell will arrive Monday and likely reach advisory levels of 8 feet along south facing shores by the afternoon hours, then build further for Tuesday through Thursday.

A small windswell will begin to return to east-facing shores over the weekend into early next week as trade winds pick up.
