Associated Press

BEIJING — Spain will host Russia in the Fed Cup final after completing a 4-1 win today over China in their semifinal.

Nuria Llagostera Vives beat China's Peng Shuai 6-4, 6-4 in the first reverse singles match to give Spain an unbeatable 3-0 advantage and assure the five-time Fed Cup champion its first berth in the final since 2002.

It will meet Russia, which beat the United States in the other semifinal, in September's final.

China's Zheng Jie beat teenage Carla Suarez-Navarro 7-6 (5), 6-3 in the other reverse singles, while Llagostera Vives combined with Maria-Jose Martinez Sanchez to win the doubles 6-2, 6-1 for Spain over Peng Shuai and Tian-Tian Sun.
