ResortQuest Hawaii's KeikiQuest Kids Club is for children ages 5 through 12 staying at any of ResortQuest Hawaii's eight Waikiki properties June 15 to Aug. 23. The club offers daytime activities for children and educates youngsters about Hawai'i's culture and natural history. The program will be housed in a specially designated KeikiQuest Kids Club room at the ResortQuest Waikiki Beach Hotel. Fairmont Orchid, on the Big Island, is offering a sixth night free and a $200 resort credit. Daily rates, with a three-night minimum, start at $399 per night. Moana Lani Spa, A Heavenly Spa will open at the Moana Surfrider In August. The 16,000 square-foot oceanfront spa will feature two couples treatment suites with private oceanfront lanai and whirlpool tubs, eight custom massage therapy rooms, two body treatment rooms, a Vichy shower water therapy room, three custom facial rooms, and a Westin Workout center with 24-hour access.

Sheraton Waikiki can feel the rush of catching O'ahu's biggest waves on the hotel's new interactive surf simulator, Discover Surf. A 60-inch flat- screen plasma TV displays the virtual wave while riders hang ten on a surfboard connected via wireless technology. Discover Surf is open every Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday in the hotel lobby from 3-5 p.m.

Aqua Hotels & Resorts will manage the Honolulu Prince hotel. The 121-room hotel offers budget rates to value-conscious travelers. Aqua Coconut Plaza has closed for renovations and will reopen June 1. Work on the 81-room hotel includes a total makeover and upgrade of the guest rooms and lobby. Room amenities will include a mini-refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, 40-inch LCD HD TV, and wireless Internet. The lobby, breakfast area and front office will receive new tile flooring and furniture.

Polynesian Cultural Center's Hawaiian Village will introduce the Halau Wa'a, or canoe house of learning this summer. The $2.65 million facility will house the Iosepa voyaging canoe and provide information about Polynesian voyaging techniques firsthand.

The Bishop Museum's "Whales: Wonders of the Ocean" exhibit runs May 17-through Sept. 17. Life-size robotic whales illustrate the major categories of whale origins, adaptations and behavior. The exhibit will feature full-sized robotic versions of a baby gray whale, a humpback whale and an orca, and animated heads of a northern right whale and a sperm whale.

Cultural activities at Waikiki Beach Walk's "Ho'omau Na Mea Hala" (continuing all things hala), 4-7 p.m. every Thursday. This free cultural program enables visitors to learn the ancient Hawaiian art of lauhala - weaving leaves from the hala or pandanus tree into everyday items. Star of Ho-nolulu's Hawaiian Cultural Cruise offers cultural activities while cruising the O'ahu coastline. The two-hour daytime cruise features lei making, hula and 'ukulele lessons, fish feeding, a Hawaiian culture video presentation, and a hula show. 12-2 p.m. $52.
