A&B Foundation grant supports Camp Imua

Imua Family Services received a $2,500 grant from the Alexander & Baldwin Foundation to support Camp Imua, a weeklong overnight camping experience for 50 children with special needs.

Camp Imua is held each summer at Camp Maluhia in the West Maui mountains. It is open to anyone age 6 to 19 with a disability.

The camp is a program of Imua Family Services, whose mission is to provide comprehensive early childhood development services to children and their families.

Imua Family Services also received a $10,000 grant from the Atherton Family Foundation for its Early Childhood Development Program.

The three-year pilot project provides therapeutic intervention services for children ages 3 through 5 who fall outside the scope of the Department of Education's special education services.
