Kamehameha wraps up ILH title with win

Amber Waracka fired a two-hitter with six strikeouts and Jamie Millwood drove in two runs as Kamehameha clinched the Interscholastic League of Honolulu regular-season softball title by beating visiting St. Francis, 3-1, yesterday.

Shaleese Javillo scored twice and Mai Kalakau tripled for Kamehameha. Ashley Smith tripled and drove in a run for St. Francis.

The Raiders scored the winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning to rally past the Wolfpack at Ala Wai field.

Kelli Ann Lum doubled in the eighth and was replaced by pinch-runner Kayleen Terayama, who scored from third base on an errant throw to first base.

'Iolani catcher Kai Masutani threw out five runners, including three who were caught stealing.

Jen Hamamoto batted 4 for 4 with two RBIs, and Tori Hamura and Desi Dung combined to scatter eight hits as the Owls beat the visiting Buffanblu.

Kaydi Kochi, Kim Onishi and Dung paired hits for Mid-Pacific. Dung also drove in three runs. Taylor Yamaguchi and Kayla Shimoda had two hits apiece for Punahou.

Kylee Rodrigues fired a three-hitter and Courtney Senas went 2 for 5 with a home run as the top-ranked Trojans beat host Na Ali'i in an O'ahu Interscholastic Association softball game that was shortened to five innings because of the mercy rule.

Kristi Oshiro, Courtney Abear, Rebecca Lee and Senas each paired hits for Mililani. The game was rescheduled from Friday.
