'Aloha Shorts' radio taping set for Sunday

"Aloha Shorts," a KIPO radio show hosted by Cedric Yamanaka featuring local actors reading Island-written poetry and stories, will hold a live taping session open to the public at 7 p.m. Sunday at Hawaii Public Radio's Atherton Performing Arts Studio, 739 Kaheka St.

Seating is free, but reservations are advised at 955-8821 during office hours.

Produced by Mark Lutwak, the session will feature Ginger Gohier reading poems and short prose by Jody Manabe Kobayashi.

Aito Steele will read J. Freen's "His Rip Off."

Jamie Simpson will read Erin F. Kimura's "The Smell of Rotting Mangoes."

Joey Wolport will provide live original music.

KIPO is at 80.3 on the radio dial.
