IRS helps Hilo retirees, disabled veterans file for stimulus checks

The Internal Revenue Service said it will offer assistance to retirees and disabled veterans in Hilo who have yet to file for their economic stimulus payments during an event from 1 to 4 p.m. on Aug. 13 in the IRS office on Aupuni Street.
People who have not tax filing requirement may still be eligible for the stimulus checks if they have at least $3,000 in certain income and file a 2007 1040A U.S. individual Income Tax Return.
