WAI'ANAE
Prison escapee nabbed after 2 days on loose

A woman inmate who escaped Monday while on court-ordered supervised release from O'ahu Community Correctional Center was captured by police Wednesday night in Wai'anae.

Roxanne Pikake Garcia, 21, was arrested without incident by Crime Reduction Unit officers from District 8 (Kapolei-Wai'anae) at 11:05 p.m. fronting 87-1784 Farrington Highway.

Garcia was a passenger in a vehicle driven by a relative, police said.

Garcia is being held at the main police station cellblock in lieu of $100,000 bail on two warrants, one of which is related to violating her supervised release. She has a court appearance today.

Garcia was at OCCC awaiting trial on burglary charges when she fled from her attorney's car Monday after returning from an assessment meeting at the Hina Mauka substance abuse treatment facility in Windward O'ahu.
