Swagger — it's an attitude, a style. It's what DJs Jaytee, Compose and Jami Ablan bring to the decks at the Fisherman's Wharf weekly Living Room event, Swagger Saturdays. "It's the way you carry yourself," says DJ Compose, aka Jonathan Ablan, phoning from his airplane seat, on his way to a gig in Canada. Compose, along with brother Jami Ablan and Jaytee, who return from a tour of Asia this weekend, are coming back to get down to business.

The DJs live up to the code, dressing in the latest hip-hop style and bringing fresh beats to the turntables. Brought to you by DJ Jaytee of Good Life Entertainment, this party includes a strict dress code (no slippers or shorts), a high-profile guest list and the latest in dance music. Swagger Saturdays, 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. Saturdays, The Living Room, 1009 Ala Moana Blvd.; $10, 21 and older; www.myspace.com/therealjaytee.

STEP INTO A 'VOLCANO'

As a "Double Label" project, DC shoes has teamed up with local company In4mation to create a limited edition of a "Volcano" shoe, which launched Friday. Designed with the Ko'olau mountain range and O'ahu's Windward side in mind, it combines the brown of our volcanic mountain terrain and the green shades of our many golf courses. Like In4mation's company motto says, "I shall proceed and continue" — in a nice pair of shoes. In4mation, Ward Warehouse, 597-1447, www.in4mants.com

CLASSIC DESIGN

When it comes to remodeling, vintage is in, and Design Within Reach has the look. "Most of the pieces are authentic reproductions of mid century modern classic designs. They aren't copies, but are licensed for reproduction," says proprietor Curtis Lee. There's a range of vintage design, however, including Lee's favorite, a Barcelona chair designed in 1929 for the king and queen of Spain, and displayed at that year's World Fair.

"Oh, and the Murano chandelier, don't you just love it?" The Murano glass, from Italy's famed glass-making city, is a treasure in itself, Lee says. Design Within Reach, Ala Moana Center; 941-2112, www.designwithinreach.com.
