Surf: Conditions picking up along east-facing shores

Advertiser Staff

Surf along east-facing shores of O'ahu has picked up a bit and is expected to be 2 to 4 feet today, the National Weather Service said.

Elsewhere, expect surf of 1 to 3 feet along south-facing shores and 2 feet or less along west- and north-facing shores.

Outlook through Sunday, Aug. 10: Trade winds will increase during the week. Surf heights along east-facing shores may approach the high-surf advisory threshold of 8 feet Friday and Saturday. Some of the swell may wrap around to select north- and south-facing shores.

No other significant wells are expected.
