Surf: Conditions on the rise along east-facing shores

Advertiser Staff

Surf along east-facing shores on Oahu will continue to rise over the next few days as gusty trade winds increase, the National Weather Service said.

Today's forecast calls for surf of 3 to 5 feet along east-facing shores.

Elsewhere, expect surf of 1 to 3 feet along south-facing shores, 2 feet or less along west-facing shores and 2 feet or less along north-facing shores.

Outlook through Monday, Aug. 11: Trade winds will increase throughout the week. Surf along east-facing shores may approach the high surf advisory threshold of 8 feet Friday and Saturday. Some of this swell may wrap around to select north- and south-facing shores.

No other significant swells are expected.
