The Hawaii Audubon Society has two events this month:

-- Program meeting, lecture: 6:30 p.m. Aug. 18, UH Manoa St. John building room 11; with Joap and Heather Eijzenga speaking about the offshore islets of Oahu and their studies of the ecosystems and threats to the islands and the seabirds that nest there. Free.

-- Field trip: 8 a.m. Aug. 30, 2008 at Paiko Lagoon.
