Suspects injured after breaking into Halawa home

Multiple charges are pending against two Halawa men in a case where the suspects ended up being hurt by the victims.

Police arrested the men, ages 20 and 35, at a Kohomua Street address for investigation of first-degree burglary, four counts each of first- and second-degree terroristic threatening, and two counts of first-degree reckless endangering.

The complainants are two women, ages 33 and 24, and two men, 37 and 21.

Police said the two suspects went to a Kohomua Street neighbor's home today at 8:45 a.m. and sought to retrieve an item from the younger male complainant. An argument ensued and the suspects allegedly threw items into the complainants' residence.

The 20-year-old suspect allegedly entered the residence through a window and threatened to fight all the complainants, police said. The older suspect then threatened all the complainants with a knife.

The suspects suffered minor injuries in a scuffle with the complaints. Police arrested the two men at the scene at 9 a.m. and took them to a hospital where they were treated for injuries before booking.
