No harm will come to the dog. That's the official word out of Comic-Con — the recently concluded San Diego fan fest for comics, sci-fi and, now, everything any Hollywood studio or network wants to market — about Vincent, the guileless golden retriever on ABC's "Lost."

During a panel in front of a couple of thousand fans, producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse didn't give up much in the way of details on anything else involving "Lost," except to say the show is complicated and things will happen. But Lindelof told the crowd, "It's safe to say Vincent will make it to the end of the show."

Madison, aka Vincent from "Lost," looks to be a survivor.

SOUND OF MUSIC

BROTHERS CAZ PERFORM

Want to see and hear The Brothers Cazimero in a free concert on the water's edge? Then head over to the Waterfront Stage of the Hawaii Kai Towne Center in East O'ahu, where The Caz will perform at 5:30 p.m. Saturday. Robert and Roland Cazimero — hot on the sales charts with their "Destiny" CD — will bring the shopping center's summertime music series to a close. The duo will be available to autograph their CDs following the performance.

FINAL WORD

"You've got people chilling on yachts in Hawai'i instead of in a jail cell because of hip-hop. I like the way hip-hop is now. It's grown up enough so that it can get involved with politics if it feels like it."
