Weather: Breezy trades expected 'til Sunday

Advertiser Staff

The National Weather Service forecast continues to call for breezy trade winds to last through Saturday due to a strong high pressure area north of the islands.

Clouds and showers carried by the trades will be centered mainly over windward and mauka areas, forecasters said.

The trades are expected to ease off a bit starting Sunday and to continue at a moderate level through the middle of next week.

"Kika," a relatively small tropical storm, will pass far south of the islands along a west-northwest track, according to the latest Central Pacific Hurricane Center forecast information.

The storm system is not expected to significantly affect weather in Hawaii during the next few days.
