Surf: East-facing shores could see 4 to 6 feet today

Surf along east-facing shores on Oahu is continuing to rise due to increasing trade winds and is expected to reach 4 to 6 feet today, the National Weather Service said.

Elsewhere, the surf will be 1 to 3 feet along south-facing shores, and 2 feet or less along west- and north-facing shores.

Outlook through Tuesday, Aug. 12: Sturdy trade winds will continue through the end of this week then ease off a bit on Sunday.

Surf heights along east-facing shores may approach the high surf advisory threshold of 8 feet Friday and Saturday.

Some of the swell may wrap around to select north- and south-facing shores.

No other significant swells are expected.
