Advertiser Staff

A wooden home in Ma'ili was destroyed by a fire that broke out about 7 a.m. this morning, fire officials said.

The home, at 87-344 Farrington Highway, was fully involved when firefighters arrived on the scene, said Fire Capt. Earl Kealoha.

Approximately 20 firefighters battled the blaze, which was declared under control at 7:18 a.m.

No injuries were reported, but the fire displaced a woman and five children ranging in age from 3 years to 15 years, Kealoha said.

The Red Cross was called to help those displaced by the fire.

A damage estimate and cause of the fire were not immediately available
