Jaguars place Wyche on injured list, sign Schobel

Associated Press

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) _ Jacksonville Jaguars defensive end James Wyche was placed on the waived/injured list with a torn Achilles tendon today.

The Jaguars, looking for help at defensive end with first-round pick Derrick Harvey still a holdout, signed veteran free agent Bo Schobel.

The 27-year-old Schobel played two games for Arizona last season. He was waived by the Cardinals on July 21 and was in uniform for Saturday night's preseason game against Atlanta.

Schobel, a fourth-round draft pick by Tennessee in 2004, was with the Titans for two seasons before playing in 14 games for Indianapolis in 2006.

The 26-year-old Wyche spent the 2007 season on injured reserve with a groin injury.
