Pearl City wins opener at Senior League World Series

Kahana Neal went 2 for 4, and Sheldon Milan pitched a one-hitter in 6 2/3 innings to lead Pearl City to a 5-3 victory over Illam Central of Makati City, Philippines, in an opening day game at the Little League Senior League (15 and 16 year olds) World Series at Bangor, Maine.

Pearl City, the West Region champions, plays East Boynton Beach (Fla.) tomorrow in pool play.

Milan also had two hits for Pearl City, which broke a 1-all tie with a three-run fifth inning.

Jordan Oshiro, Kahana Neal and Kala Neal had RBI singles.

Pearl City added a run in the top of the seventh on an RBI single by Bronson Shim.
